The misogyny of Voter ID and proof of citizenship

With the current discussion regarding Voter ID, ignoring for a moment that if you don't require ID, then you don't know who is actually voting and if you don't require proof of citizenship, then you don't know if the person is eligible, but instead just look the discussion of how Voter ID would adversely affect women, specifically married women.

Look closely at what people are saying, especially many women. They are claiming that to require proof of citizenship would adversely affect women and would prevent them to vote. It would require women to get additional documents WHICH THEY DON'T ALREADY HAVE, but that is just misogyny. It is claiming that women are too stupid or unable to get those documents, but there are several problems with that. The first is that women are not too stupid nor unable to get such documents. But more important than that it shows that propaganda is at work.

Next, explain why women don't already have such documents. What are the reasons for their not having the documents? Why do people claim that it is an unfair additional cost for women?

There is a simple and obvious problem with such claims. How exactly did these woman change their names on their ID without having those very documents? They couldn't. That means that they did in fact have the documents and didn't have to pay anything extra for the documents as it was part of the cost of getting married, which both parties have to pay for. Women are not charged more to get married than men.

The additional documents that they need are the very same documents that are required when people get married. The cost applies to BOTH people getting married. This means that there is no additional cost or effort needed unless the women somehow lose the documents. So why are these people assuming that women can't keep track of their documents? They don't seem to assume the same thing in regards to men, which again indicates misogyny. But men also often need the same documents for various reasons, including some men changing their names, but as well for insurance, benefits and other reasons the documents are needed.

So why do people make such claims? Either it is due to misogyny or they are flat out lying. So which is it? Do they even know which it is? Could it be that there is another reason for such absurd claims, perhaps insanity?

It also could be that they real reason is that they are trying to push a political agenda and they can't base it on rational, reasonable arguments, so they spew absolute garbage which portray women in a negative light, or in other words misogyny is used to further their agenda. Either they hope that people fail to see their hate or they can't see it themselves.
