Learning from History

Why is it that most companies do not value history? Many times there are people who work for a company which have a long history. They know what has occurred and more importantly why. But some companies seem to like to get rid of people like this. Perhaps it is because those people prevent them from doing what they want to do, regardless of what makes sense. The loss of this history from the company is great.
